Nylon (Polyamide) is a versatile material with a low coefficient of friction and good resistance to abrasion. Balancing strength and toughness, it’s also very lightweight, weighing 1/7th as much as bronze.
Applying Nylon reduces the need for heavy lubrication, and dampens sound and eliminates galling, corrosion and pilferage problems.
